Creating and Giving Back

Image
The 2018 Arts N' Beats is a special event presented by Corona Premier that brings people together to support local artists, and in all raises money for people with impairments in Dallas and around the world. I was lucky enough to get to experience this event last year and saw how it brought so many people together for a great cause. This year this event has a great amount of sponsors. This sponsorship will benefit in the way that they are part of a good cause in helping individuals. Being part of something so big and great is what brings hope.

Will I go back?

I went grocery shopping at Kroger and after I paid for my things, I was handed these coupons. This form of sales promotion was pretty smart because the coupons I got were for items I purchased that night, therefore, I can use these coupons next time I go shopping. In this case, this promotion strengthened my relationship with the brand because it made me want to go back and shop at the same location and buy the same items again.

It Works!

I received this email from Sephora the other day simply telling me about Beauty Insider points and what I could get. Now Sephora is smart for doing this because they know I've accumulated those points by spending so much at their store, so of course seeing these points I don't want to use them yet, but rather keep buying more to get more points. This was a successful CRM program because Sephora is building their long-term loyalty relationship to the brand with its customers. The CRM metric, share of customer, is what Sephora is doing in these emails to their Beauty Insider customers. These emails are directed towards customers that are spending more money with the company, making them more valuable over time. Personally, this has strengthen my relationship with the brand and makes me want to keep on purchasing items from there.

They never fail...

Coca Cola never fails to market their product in a genius way where it will reach a large audience. They used product placement as a form of alternative marketing in the show Breaking Bad. "The planned insertion of a brand or product into a movie, television show, or program, a product placement serves the purpose of influencing viewers." (Clow & Baack, 2016, p. 287). Therefore putting their product in a show with high views with well known stars benefited their product by attracting new and existing consumers.  Reference:   C low, K. E., & Baack, D. ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Image
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is an amazing form of viral marketing. This challenge not only brought awareness to the disease, but it also raised money and the research budget rose drastically to $96 million. Viral marketing is when a video that is posted just keeps passing on and on. This challenge was passed on numerous times and people shared their participation through YouTube videos and other forms of social media. Clearly this form of marketing was successful.

They got me!

I'm going to Miami on a girls trip after graduation so I need to do some swimsuit shopping. I casually went through a couple of pages on Instagram when They Got Me! Yes, ads started popping up on my feed even when I was no longer on the site. This is a form of behavioral targeting, the past sites I visited started sending ads to my feed to hook me and buy a swimsuit. Did they succeed? Yes... Yes they definitely did. So, you could say this form of digital marketing strategy was very effective in my case. At least I'm ready for Miami!

The Magnolia Journal

I chose my ad from the magazine to be one from the Magnolia Market itself. I truly enjoyed this ad because Magnolia decided to approach it in a clean cut very straight forward way. I believe Magnolia used the effective message strategy using emotional appeal and an informative execution. An effective strategy because this ad is attempting to make the customer like the brand and products it offers. I chose emotional appeal because of the way Magnolia set up this ad. Magnolia made this ad very simple, but made it unique by using the different shades of green leaves on the page. Unique in the sense that this ad is from the highly anticipated Spring 2018 magazine. Magnolia knows its brand has loyal customers who have waited for their quarterly publications, so all those customers need is something simple such as leaves and the website to direct them to where they can keep shopping from the brand their so loyal too. The website on the page is where the informative execution was used, as ...
